Man, 49, charged over motorcyclist death

A motorcyclist has died in hospital after being found seriously injured near the northern entrance to the Sydney Harbour Tunnel at the weekend.

Police say that just after 3.15pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to the southbound lanes of the Warringah Freeway, where they found a motorcyclist suffering multiple injuries.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and transported the rider, a 28-year-old man, to Royal North Shore Hospital, where he died yesterday.

The driver of a Ford Ranger utility, a 49-year-old man was charged in relation to the accident on Sunday, and remains before the courts.

Investigations by the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit continue.
