Long-time radio personality dies

Long-time radio journalist, Glenn Daniel, died “peacefully in his sleep” overnight – just a month after celebrating his 60th birthday.

Today Mr Daniel – who has worked in radio for close to 40 years – is being remembered as “a true gentleman” by his Smooth FM colleagues.

“He had a beautiful soul, was kind, generous and had time for all,” said NOVA Entertainment’s chief programming and marketing officer, Paul Jackson.

“He was a consummate professional for his entire 39 year career in broadcast radio and journalism.”

“Daniel had recently branched out into podcasting, creating the award-winning The Worst Day Of Your Life series, where he shared the stories of people who’d survived adversity and traumatic events and used their experiences to help others change their lives for the better.”

“Glenn loved his kayaking, cricket and The Eels, but more than anything he loved his two boys Mark and James,” Mr Jackson said.

“They are very much in our thoughts now as is Glenn’s on air partner Bogart and the entire Smooth FM family.”

Mr Daniel was understood to have been battling heart-related illness prior to his death.
