Liverpool competition digs up city’s top gardens

Liverpool City Council’s 2023 Garden Competition has officially come to an end, and it’s time to celebrate the green thumbs and creative horticulturalists who have transformed Liverpool into a blooming paradise.

Building on the success of last year, this year’s competition featured extended categories and a total prize pool of $5,000.

“It was the perfect opportunity for Liverpool’s dedicated gardeners to showcase their exquisite flowers and lush gardens that they have tirelessly nurtured,” said Mayor Ned Mannoun.

“Seeing many gardeners proudly share their green sanctuaries this year was truly heart-warming.”

Contributing to the wider beatification of the area, this year’s winners truly delivered a stunning showcase.

The 2023 winners are:

  • Best School Garden: Bringelly Public School
  • Best Front Garden: Kathy Duong, Ashcroft
  • Best Back Garden: Mitchell Stone, Hoxton Park
  • Best Themed Garden: Milka Horvat, Middleton Grange
  • Best Balcony Garden: Thomas Adrian, Holsworthy
  • Best Entire Garden/Property: Caroline & Damata, Liverpool
  • Best Courtyard, Enclosed Area or Entrance Way: Annie Dimech, Hinchinbrook
Best Front Garden: Kathy Duong, Ashcroft.

Highly Commended:

  • Best School Garden: Austral Public School
  • Best Front Garden: Natasha Ribeiro, West Hoxton
  • Best Back Garden: Dante Salvador, Wattle Grove
  • Best Themed Garden: Donabella McNamara, Prestons
  • Best Balcony Garden: Sara Cibralic, Liverpool
  • Best Entire Garden/Property: Lynne & Lance Gardner, Denham Court
  • Best Courtyard, Enclosed Area or Entrance Way: Carmel Carbott, Carnes Hill
Best Back Garden: Mitchell Stone, Hoxton Park.

Liverpool City Council today congratulated all the winners and participants for their dedication in making the city a more beautiful and vibrant place through their remarkable gardens.

“We look forward to seeing even more breathtaking gardens in the years to come,” the Mayor said.
