An unsuspecting Melburnian may be yet to discover they’re Melbourne’s newest multi-millionaire, carrying around an $8 million winning ticket from last night’s Oz Lotto draw.
The lone winner of the national Oz Lotto draw 1601, which took place on Tuesday, 22 October 2024, is currently unknown due to their unregistered ticket, leaving lottery officials with no way to directly notify them.
Purchased at Central Station News, Shop Lg 13, Melbourne Central, 211 La Trobe Street, the ticket now holds the promise of a transformed life, waiting to be claimed.
Shop owner, Shuxia Tang says her excitement over selling their largest ever division one winning ticket is palpable – a momentous event for both the shop and the anonymous winner.
“It’s very exciting! My manager Yan Pan and I worked yesterday morning so it could have been either of us that sold the multi-million dollar division one winning ticket,” she said.
“Both of us are super excited for our mystery winner. This is the biggest division one winning entry that we’ve ever sold, and we’ve sold nine entries since 2009!
“The last time we sold a division one winning entry was earlier this year in March, and it was a syndicate entry. It’s so great to see our outlet continue to sell division one winning entries!
