Police have located human remains in Snake Valley and believe they may be related to the disappearance of missing Ballarat woman, Kobie Parfitt.
“Detectives from the Missing Person Squad and Search and Rescue Squad were in the area conducting a search on 21 and 22 December,” Victoria Police said in a statement last night.
“Around 1.30pm on 22 December, the remains were discovered in a mine shaft near Kelly’s Track.
“The remains are yet to be formally identified.”
Yesterday detectives spoke to a 31-year-old Mount Clear woman in relation to Kobie’s disappearance, however she has been released without charge.
Investigators say they are expecting to speak to further people in coming days regarding the case.
“Detectives have already searched a number of properties and spoke to a number of people in relation to the 43-year-old’s disappearance in April,” Police said.
“They have been able to confirm Kobie was last seen alive at a property on Hickman Street on 28 April.”
Investigators are urging anyone with any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
