Greater Shepparton releases Seniors Festival lineup

Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting senior members of the community to get ready for a month full of fun, with social activities taking place across the region in celebration of Seniors Festival 2023.

Starting Sunday 1 and finishing Tuesday 31 October, the Seniors Festival 2023 will feature over 100 events and activities designed for older residents in Greater Shepparton.

Seniors represent 25% of the Greater Shepparton population and are recognised and valued for their wide range of skills and experience. Council is looking forward to celebrating the senior community through leading and partnering on a range of activities, said Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali.

The Mayor said the Seniors Festival is a wonderful opportunity for older members of the community to connect with each other through social activities.

“We look forward to seeing our seniors engaging in activities that increase and create connections, encourage them to be social and have a good time,” he said

“We encourage residents to go out, enjoy themselves and participate in the many events taking place throughout the Festival. This is the perfect opportunity to discover the region and have fun.”

The festival will kick off on Sunday 1 October with the “Breakfast with the Birds” activity at Reedy Swamp. RiverConnect and Birdlife Murray Goulburn will present an avian adventure, with attendees able to identify bird species and enjoy a delicious breakfast at no cost.

The main event for the Seniors Festival will be a concert sponsored by the Victorian Government headlined by The Beatlez Tribute Show. The concert will take place on Tuesday 10 October at Riverlinks Eastbank in Shepparton, with tickets available at the Riverlinks website.
