An 82-year-old woman has been found dead and her partner rushed to hospital after a neighbour noticed the couple lying motionless inside their home.
Police were called to the couple’s Varsity Lakes home on the Gold Coast around 1.30pm today.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man, also 82, was suffering life-threatening injuries.
He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital where he is being treated under police guard.
Police said they were treating the woman’s death as suspicious and were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
