Forbes retirement village forges ahead

Jemalong Retirement Village’s newest residents, Joyce and Rex.

Catholic Healthcare has announced the completion of Stage One of its Jemalong Retirement Village in Forbes.

It said Stage One of the new village featured 19 new free-standing villas with a range of shared amenities including a community centre and on-site café and Chapel.

Catholic Healthcare General Manager, Residential Care, Andrew Kinkade said, “We are committed and focused on creating much needed additional services in Forbes for the growing aged population.”

“Construction has involved a significant amount of work over the past year and we are excited that our development is now complete. Half of our residences are already sold.”

The development, located close to the township of Forbes, will have a total of 60 residences when all stages are completed.

“As an organisation we continue to grow and expand our services for seniors and the community as the demand for retirement living increases. We look forward to welcoming our first residents to their new Village,” said Mr Kinkade.

Sales Manager, Jenny Thomas said the Village had been designed to “bring people together”.

“We understand the importance of maintaining a sense of community. You can be as active and social as you want. Meet up for book clubs, go out with other residents or enjoy a variety of social activities. Living amongst like-minded others with similar interests makes perfect sense.”
