Five charged over Armidale drug raids

Detectives have charged a further five people as they continue their investigation into drug supply across the Western Region.

In April 2020, detectives commenced an investigation into ongoing drug supply in Armidale and surrounding areas.

Yesterday, officers executed search warrants in Rowan Avenue, Uralla, and Barney Street, Armidale, where they allegedly located 125g methamphetamine, and $33,000 in cash.

Five people including two women and three men were arrested and taken to Armidale Police Station where the following charges were laid:

  • A 41-year-old man was charged with drug supply (x45)
  • A 34-year-old woman was charged with drug supply (x28)
  • A 50-year-old woman was charged with drug supply (x26)
  • A 30-year-old man was charged with drug supply (x10)
  • A 51-year-old man was charged with drug supply (x4).

Four of the five people have been refused bail and will appear in Armidale Local Court yesterday.

The 51-year-old man has been given conditional bail and will appear in Armidale Local Court on January 11 next year.

“These arrests are a continuation of an ongoing investigation that has already seen the arrest and charging of five people, including two men and three women for a range of offences including assault, driving offences, and drug supply,” NSW Police said in a statement.

Those matters remain before the courts.
