Elderly pedestrian struck in Rose Bay

NSW Police has appealed for public assistance after a 69-year-old man was hit by a car in Sydney’s eastern suburbs yesterday.

Police say that at about 9.40am on Thursday, emergency services were called to the corner of Newcastle Street and New South Head Road, Rose Bay, after the elderly man was hit by a white Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle.

He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with serious head and leg injuries.

The Jeep driver, a 23-year-old man, was also taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

As part of their inquiries, police are also keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or might have video or dashcam footage of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
