Driver disqualified until 2062 caught driving

A 52-year-old man disqualified from driving until 2062 will face court today after being charged with multiple traffic offences.

Police say that shortly before 4pm yesterday, officers responded to a crash between a Ford Falcon and a Mercedes at the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Huntingwood Drive at Huntingwood.

“The driver of the Ford, a 52-year-old man, and the driver of the Mercedes, a 37-year-old man, were assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but were not injured,” NSW Police said in a statement today.

“Officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Police checks revealed the 52-year-old driver was disqualified from driving until 2062.

The man was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period – second offence, not stop at stop line at red light (not toll booth) motor vehicle and drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous – second offence.

He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court today.
