A 78-year-old man has died following a crash in the State’s south this afternoon.
In a statement, NSW Police said that at around 1:40pm, emergency services were called to the Barton Highway, Jeir – approximately 30km south of Yass – where they found a truck and car had collided.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and treated the 78-year-old driver of the car, a man, however, he died at the scene,” Police said.
“The driver of the truck, a man believed to be aged in his 40’s was also treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Yass Hospital for mandatory testing.
“Officers from The Hume Police District have established a crime scene.”
The Barton Highway is currently closed in both directions between Nanima Road and Murrumbateman Road.
