A 76-year-old man has died after his car veered off the road and into a major creek at Mundoolun, southwest of Brisbane.
Initial investigations indicate the vehicle was travelling west along Beenleigh-Beaudesert Road just after 12.30pm on Thursday when it left the roadway and entered a body of water, Queensland Police said in a statement.
“The sole occupant, a man from Bellmere, was retrieved from the vehicle and declared deceased at the scene,” Police said.
“The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.”
Anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
