A 57-year-old man has been charged after he was allegedly caught drink driving in the NSW Central West at the weekend – recording a blood alcohol reading of more than six times the legal limit.
Police say that at around 8.15pm on Sunday, officers from Chifley Police District stopped a Ford Falcon on Lachlan Street, Cowra, after they noticed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
“The driver was subjected to a roadside breath test and returned a positive result,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“He was arrested and taken to Cowra Police Station, where he underwent a breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.303, more than six times the legal limit.”
The man is due to appear at Cowra Local Court on October 6.
