Divers join search for missing 78-year-old

Police are continuing to search for 78-year-old William Hetherington, who has been missing from his Dallarnil property since last Saturday.

Police say Mr Hetherington last spoke to family via telephone at around 5.50pm last Saturday (October 9) from his property at Dallarnil, north east of Biggenden.

The missing man, who is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cms tall with short, grey hair and green eyes, has a medical condition and grave fears are now held for his safety and wellbeing, Queensland Police said in a statement.

“Extensive aerial and land searches, involving police, SES, family, friends and the local community is on-going, including people on horse back, in vehicles, on motorbikes and on foot, after family raised the alarm when they were unable to contact William on October 10,” Police said.

Police divers will today join the search for Mr Hetherington (pictured above).

The property William is missing on is approximately 400 acres and extensively covered by dense forest and bushland, Police said.
