Cessnock libraries launch savvy seniors tech workshops

From April to June, Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Libraries are offering more than 20 free technology workshops for seniors living in the Cessnock Local Government Area.

Seniors are invited to join the small and friendly workshops which are supported by expert staff. Attendees will learn new skills in order to become more tech savvy and to get help mastering their smartphone, computer or tablet.

Many of the workshops will focus on building digital skills – covering topics like email, phone basics, video calling, sharing photos, cyber safety and managing your digital assets for end of life.

Cessnock City Councilʼs Library Services Coordinator, Rose-marie Walters, is encouraging local seniors to take advantage of the practical, hands-on workshops.

“These workshops are about teaching local seniors that technology isn’t terrifying or to be
avoided, but can be an incredibly useful tool when you have the skills to get the most out your device,” Ms Walters said.

To view the full range of workshops, visit or drop in to your local library to collect a flyer.
Bookings are essential, book online or by calling Cessnock Library on 4993 4399 or Kurri Kurri Library on 4937 1638.
