Canberra woman in her 90s dies with COVID

A Canberra woman in her 90s has died with COVID-19, ACT Health has announced today.

“ACT Health extends its sincere condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time,” the health authority said in a statement.

The fatality is the ACT’s 43rd since the pandemic began and follows the deaths of three people with the virus last week.

There are currently 41 people hospitalised with COVID-19 in Canberra. Five are reportedly in intensive care units, with two being ventilated.

The ACT recorded 918 new infections yesterday, taking the Territory’s caseload to 5,471 active cases.
