Canberrans are being encouraged to get up early this Sunday morning to support the Socceroos at a live site in Civic Square, where the match against Argentina will be shown live on the big screen outside the Canberra Theatre Centre.
With coffee and food options available, families coming along should bring a chair or a rug to be comfortable while enjoying the live action. Screening will begin from 5am before the 6am kick off.
Minister for Business and Better Regulation, Tara Cheyne encouraged Canberrans to support their local whilst cheering on the Socceroos.
“International sporting events, and particularly World Cups, unite us as a community. Seeing the Socceroos qualify for the knockout phase of the World Cup for the first time since 2006 was a special moment – and we want to make it easy for Canberrans to show their support in a big way,” Minister Cheyne said.
“I look forward to seeing Canberrans out in force in their green and gold at the live site in Civic or their local pubs and clubs who open for the occasion.”
