Detectives from the Queensland Police Gateway Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) have further charged a 67-year-old man following investigations into historical sexual offences in Brisbane’s north.
It will be alleged that the man committed a further 15 offences against a 16-year-old girl in Warner between April 1996 and December 1997, using his position of authority to offend against the teenager.
The man has been further charged with six counts of sexual assault, four counts of indecent assault, three counts of indecent acts, and two counts of rape.
He is remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 October.
“These additional charges follow the victim-survivor bravely coming forward to investigators two weeks ago, as well as information provided as a result of the previous media release,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“Police are continuing to urge anyone with further information or similar interactions to come forward.”
