Detectives from Brisbane City Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU) have charged a 63-year-old man with more than 100 child sex offences.
Queensland Police said the arrest was part of Operation Victor Dialect, which was launched in October last year to investigate alleged offences that occurred between 1980 and 1991 in various locations across the Wide Bay Burnett and Capricornia regions, involving multiple children.
“Yesterday, January 25, detectives arrested 63-year-old man at East Brisbane,” Police said in a statement.
“He has been charged with 96 counts of indecent treatment of girls under 16, eight counts of indecent assault on females, and one count of indecent assault.”
He is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
