A body believed to be that of a missing 71-year-old man from Carabost in the NSW Riverina region has been located by Police today.
The man was last seen at his home on Coppabella Road in Carabost, about 3pm yesterday.
When a neighbour went to visit at 6pm and the man could not be found, officers attached to Murray River Police District were notified and commenced inquiries to locate him.
“Following inquiries, the man was located deceased on the rural property on Coppabella Road, just before 3pm today,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing 71-year-old man.”
An investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding his death.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
