Bodies found in fire-ravaged Browns Plains home

Police have located the bodies of two people as investigations continue into the circumstances of a suspicious fire at Browns Plains yesterday morning.

Around 4am, police and emergency services were called to a townhouse engulfed in fire on Moyla Street.

“Preliminary investigations indicate the blaze was deliberately lit and a crime scene has been established,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

“Yesterday evening, the remains of two people were recovered from inside the damaged residence.”

Police said autopsies will be conducted to determine if they are a 49-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man who are still unaccounted for in the blaze.

“Police are working to determine the events leading up to the fire and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward,” QPS said.
