Batehaven woman, 58, charged with $15,000 theft

A 58-year-old woman has been charged over the alleged theft of almost $15,000 dollars worth of items from local stores on the NSW South Coast.

Investigations began after officers attached to South Coast Police District received information a large quantity of items totalling $14,000 were being sold online, NSW Police said in a statement today.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Grantham Road, Batehaven, on June 16th.

“During a search of the home, police allegedly located and seized several items suspected of being stolen,” Police said.

“A 58-year-old woman – who had been assisting police with their inquiries – has since been issued with a Court Attendance Notice for one count of goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle).”

The Batehaven woman is due to appear in Batemans Bay Local Court on August 8th.
