Perth Detectives are investigating the brutal assault of a young man in Northbridge on the weekend that has left the victim with multiple facial fractures.

Police say that at around 1:20am on Sunday, a 20-year-old man was with a friend at a carpark on Aberdeen Street when they were approached by a number of males who were already in the carpark.

After talking with the group for around 10 minutes, one of the males stole the victims belt buckle and ran away. The victim gave chase but upon catching up, was assaulted by the male and two others from the group.

During the assault the victim’s mobile phone and watch were also stolen.
