A 73-year-old Cherrybrook man will face Downing Centre District Court today charged over an alleged sexual touching incident at Sydney International Airport.
Police say that on August 27, the man, who was employed at Sydney International Airport, entered a café where it is alleged he sexually touched a female café employee.
“The alleged victim attended the Australian Federal Police Airport Office on 28 August 2021 to report the incident. Police were able to obtain CCTV footage from within the café which police will allege corroborates the victim’s complaint,” Australian Federal Police (AFP) said in a statement released today.
“Police investigations revealed the suspect to be a 73-year-old Cherrybrook man who works at the Sydney International Airport. On 28 August, Police applied for an Apprehended Personal Violence Order against the man.”
The following day, police obtained further CCTV footage from inside the café, which allegedly showed an additional assault on the victim at an earlier time by the same man.
“Later that day, the man attended Sydney Airport Police Station where he participated in a record of interview,’ the AFP said.
Following the interview, the man was charged over the incident.
