The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety will hold a final hearing to hear submissions from Counsel Assisting on October 22 and 23.
The Commission said the Counsel Assisting’s Final Submissions Hearing will be a virtual hearing with no public access but will be available to view or listen to on the Royal Commission website.
“For the final hearing, Senior Counsel Assisting, Peter Gray QC and Peter Rozen QC, will both present submissions on behalf of the Counsel Assisting team over the two days,” the Commission said.
“Counsel intend to submit recommendations for the consideration of the Commissioners, and for any response by interested parties, on all material aspects of the work of the Royal Commission save for long-term financing options.
“A process of consultation on financing options remains in progress.”
It said there would be an opportunity for interested parties to make written submissions in response to Counsel Assisting’s final submissions.
“Responding submissions will be required to be made by 12Â November 2020.”
The Commission said there would be no extensions of time granted. Details on the form and length of such submissions will be announced by the Commissioners at the hearing.
The hearing will commence at 10am (AEDT) on Thursday, 22 October. It can be viewed through the Royal Commission webcast- external site.
