Police are appealing for information and dashcam vision after an 86-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle in East Ryde this morning, hitting a pedestrian and several parked cars.
Police say that at around 10am today, emergency services were called to Pittwater Road, near Bronhill Avenue, following reports a Toyota Camry had hit several parked vehicles and rolled.
“A 27-year-old male pedestrian standing in between a parked Toyota Corolla and Mazda CX7 was impacted as a result of the crash,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Members of the public assisted the man before emergency services arrived and he was treated at the scene.”
The injured man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with serious leg injuries.
The Toyota driver, an 86-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to hospital, where she underwent mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
“Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash,” police said.
“Anyone with dashcam vision or who may have witnessed the crash and not yet spoken to police is urged to come forward.”
