Police have charged an 82-year-old man with the sexual assault of a woman on a bus in Thomastown last month.
The Thomastown man was arrested following the execution of a search warrant in Thomastown today.
He was interviewed and charged with sexual assault and stalking and was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in April next year.
The charges follow a report to police that a man approached a woman at a bus stop on Alexander Avenue about 9.50am on November 10.
“It is alleged the man made explicit comments and followed the woman onto a bus before sexually assaulting her,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
“Investigators would like to thank the community and the media for their assistance with the matter.”
