15-year-old charged over Subiaco school fire

Specialist officers from the WA Police Arson Squad are investigating a fire that occurred at a primary school in Subiaco on Sunday.

At around 9.20pm, police and emergency services were called to the school on Bagot Road. The fire caused an estimated $100,000 damage to the school.

Today, Arson Squad officers charged a 15-year-old boy from Osborne Park with one count of criminal damage by fire; and three counts of stealing.

He is due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court this afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives urge anyone with any information relating to this fire, or who has CCTV or dash-cam vision of Bagot Road in Subiaco around the time of the fire, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au.

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
