10th day with no new cases

NSW recorded no new cases of locally acquired COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night – marking the state’s 10th day with no local transmission of the virus.

Four cases were reported in overseas travellers in hotel quarantine, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 4,313 since the start of the pandemic.

With the NSW border still open to South Australians following the state’s current outbreak of 17 cases, NSW Health has introduced new procedures for arrivals from Adelaide.

“NSW Health is screening passengers arriving on flights and buses from South Australia and is asking people if they have attended any of the venues of concern. The details of locations and times of these venues, and the associated health advice, are available from SA Health – Contact Tracing.”

“People can contact NSW Health on 1300 066 055 if they have any queries or would like assistance in accessing testing if they have been at any venues or sites identified by SA Health.

“All people travelling from South Australia, particularly Adelaide, to NSW, including recent arrivals, are asked to monitor for even the mildest of symptoms and get tested and isolate if they appear.  They must remain in isolation until a negative result is received, in line with routine advice for all people in NSW.”

There were 8,588 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with 7,034 in the previous 24 hours.

NSW Health is treating 61 active COVID-19 cases – none are in intensive care.
