Doomben Racecourse has been announced as the latest location to be added to Queensland Health’s expanding network of COVID vaccination hubs.
Health Minister, Yvette D’Ath said Doomben was a well-equipped hub to deliver the COVID vaccine to eligible Queenslanders.
“Doomben is well known to many Queenslanders and has good transport links to ensure ease of access,” Minister D’Ath said.
“It’s the perfect location for our growing network of vaccination hubs, which are vaccinating an ever-growing number of Queenslanders.
“Queensland Health’s focus remains on vaccinating people aged 40 to 49 who have registered their interest in receiving a vaccination, and residential aged care workers and disability staff.
“If you’re in either of these categories, we’re encouraging you to go online and register to receive your vaccine.”
Vaccinations are also available to frontline staff such as health workers, paramedics, police and correctional officers.
“Today Queensland is set to hit a total of one million COVID vaccination doses delivered, through our GP and pharmacy networks and Queensland Health hubs,” she said.
“Over the last week alone, Queensland Health has administered 71,471 vaccinations, including a record 11,827 yesterday.
“We want to continue to grow these numbers to get even more Queenslanders protected in this ongoing global epidemic.”
Last weekend Queensland Health expanded its network of vaccination centres delivering Pfizer vaccinations to 18, including three new dedicated community centres.
