Wodonga comes to the rescue of Lismore library

The Friends of Wodonga Library have taken a small but important step towards helping the community of Lismore in northern NSW to recover from catastrophic flooding earlier this year.

The Lismore Library (pictured, below) lost most of its collection in the floods and put out a call for help to stock a pop-up library for the city’s residents.

The Friends and Hyphen Wodonga Library Gallery (members pictured, main photo) responded with a donation of more than 50 items, including books for children and adults, audio books and games.

The items came from stock at Hyphen as well as community donations.

Community members who would like to donate to the Lismore Library can do so by visiting the Richmond Tweed Regional Library recovery page.

Hyphen’s collection is regularly updated, with older items donated to the Friends of Wodonga Library, who hold book sales several times a year.

The next book sale will be on June 24, 25 and 26 in the Community Studio at Hyphen Wodonga Library Gallery.
