A bakery in Boronia, Victoria, has taken out Australia’s Best Pie award – marking a hat trick of consecutive national titles for the small pie shop’s most famous offering.
Country Cob Bakery’s ‘pepper steak pie’ was yesterday named the nation’s most delicious by the Baking Association of Australia.
“The history repeats. We have done it again. Australia’s Best Pie Champion three years in a row,” the business said on its Facebook page.
It’s the fifth time Country Cob’s $5.90 pepper beef pie has taken out the top gong, with Baking Association judges biting into 1947 different pies across 14 categories this year, including camel curry and satay crocodile offerings.
