Tasmanian SES have a helluva hump day!

Have you ever seen a camel between Tasmania’s Poatina Hill and Blackwood Creek?

Tasmania Police and volunteers from Tasmania SES and Tasmania Fire Service Longford Volunteer Brigade attended the area to assist the camels and their handler.

“The caravan of camels had become unable to move forward as a result of the deteriorating track and couldn’t reverse their course without assistance,” Tasmania SES said in a Facebook post.

“A roping system to enable the animals to cross Palmers Rivulet was set up by Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania SES.

“Once back on Poatina Hill, they were escorted to Poatina Village where Capstone College members assisted with an area to house the camels for the night.

“Tasmania Police would particularly like to thank the Northern SES Search and Rescue Team, Longford Volunteer Fire Brigade and Capstone College for their assistance in very unusual circumstances.”

Well done crews! That’s one hell of a hump day!
