A pub in Sydney’s south west has tonight confirmed on social media that a patron attended the venue days before testing positive to coronavirus.
Pritchard’s Hotel in Mount Pritchard announced the positive case on its Facebook page around 6pm this evening.
“As a licensed venue, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place, and the venue has a detailed deep clean scheduled overnight tonight,” Pritchard’s Hotel said.
“The wellbeing of our guests, team and communities is our highest priority, and in line with public health advice, we are taking all necessary steps to ensure ongoing safety in our venue.”
The pub said the COVID-infected guest was in the pub bistro on July 23 between 7pm and 7.45pm.
Anyone who visited the pub on July 23 between those times has been asked to monitor for symptoms and get tested for COVID-19 if even mild symptoms occur.
“We have encouraged all our team members who have worked during this period to do the same thing,” the pub said.
“We have provided NSW Health with contact details of staff and customers at the hotel during that period.”
The social media announcement comes as NSW recorded 17 new cases of coronavirus today – with nine linked to known clusters in Sydney.
