Body found in Blue Mountains

A body, believed to be that of a woman missing from Blackheath, has been located in the Blue Mountains.

The 54-year-old woman was last seen in the vicinity of Evans Lookout Road, Blackheath, about 6am yesterday.

She was reported missing to officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command, who have commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

“Following a land and air search of the surrounding area, a body was located in the Grose Valley near the Valley View Lookout about 10.30am today,” NSW Police said.

“The body is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be that of the missing woman.”

A recovery operation is expected to be conducted tomorrow to retrieve the woman’s body.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner,” NSW Police said.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing in the Blue Mountains.

Megan Cliff (pictured), aged 54, was last seen in the vicinity of Evans Lookout Road, Blackheath, about 6am today.

“She was reported missing to officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command, who have commenced inquiries into her whereabouts,” NSW Police said.

“Police and family hold concerns for her welfare due to the disappearance being out of character.”

Megan is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of medium build, with medium length brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing black tracksuit pants, white sport shoes and a red or purple jumper.
