Happy birthday to veteran Lloyd Thomson who was born in Coburg, Victoria, 100 years ago.
Lloyd joined the Australian Army in May 1943 and served in Australia with 60 Australian Corps Field Park.
He enjoyed the fitness and mateship while serving.
Lloyd was married in July 1944 and then discharged in November 1945.
He advises younger serving personnel to ‘keep a clear mind at all times regardless’.
After the war, Lloyd was a house painter.
Lloyd credits his longevity to his ‘pedigree’, a healthy lifestyle and his beautiful wife, Marjory, who took wonderful care of him for 74 years, before she passed away in January 2019.
