GOTCHA! Four-time border buster arrested in Warwick home

A woman intercepted by police on three separate occasions attempting to cross the border from NSW into Queensland at Goondiwindi has been arrested today at a home in Warwick.

Police arrested the woman at the home this morning, after eagle-eyed officers spotted a vehicle registered to the her parked outside the residence.

“A subsequent search of the dwelling resulted in a 49-year-old woman being located barricaded in one of the bedrooms,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

She was arrested and transported back to Warwick Watchhouse and charged with Fail to comply with Covid-19 Public Health Direction and is due to appear in Warwick Magistrates Court today.

On August 18, the woman was located by police after attempting to conceal herself under blankets and clothing in the boot of a car that was on the back of a tow truck.

She was arrested and transported to Boggabilla in NSW and fined $4,135 for breaching health orders.

The woman had been denied entry to Queensland at the same border crossing in Goondiwindi on two previous occasions.
