Analysis of Google search data has revealed what the hardest Wordle puzzle to solve was in 2025.
Australia’s most difficult Wordle of the year was the word ‘WHOLE’ which appeared on the popular word game on July 27 last year.
The most puzzling Wordle puzzles of the year for each state were:

A spokesperson for the Word Unscrambler Unscramblerer.com commented on the findings, saying, “Players searched for Wordle hints 1,7 million times in 2025. The hardest to solve Wordle in Australia was ‘WHOLE’. The gap between players who want to cheat and those who simply need a hint to solve Wordle is suprisingly even. It seems that Australians do not like breaking a winning streak. ‘Wordle hint’ had 1,7  million and searches ‘Wordle solver’ had 1,67 million yearly searches. Hints are a great tool that keeps the game fun when solving a hard Wordle.”
Research was conducted by word unscrambling experts at Unscramblerer.com, who analysed Wordle puzzles between Jan 1, 2025 and Dec 31, using 2025 search data from Google Trends for ‘Wordle hint’.
“We used Google Trends to discover the hardest to solve Wordle words of the year and Ahrefs to find the number of searches for Australia,” said the Unscramblerer team.
“The hardest to solve Wordle words for 2025 can be found through Google Trends with the keywords like ‘Wordle hint’ and ‘Wordle today’.
“People who will have trouble solving the daily Wordle will search for ‘Wordle hint’ to be given a clue about how to solve the word puzzle… We added up 90 search variations of hint searches.”
