New Beccy Cole album full of life lessons

Australian country singer songwriter, Beccy Cole OAM, has unveiled plans for the release of her much-anticipated ninth studio album.

‘Through The Haze’ will be Beccy’s first solo album in seven years and is scheduled for release on March 13th, with the 13-track record also available on vinyl from March 27th.

“Through The Haze definitely has an element of diary entry style songwriting, there are certainly songs that explore my marriage breakup (and breakdown) and samples of the lessons learned through therapy and sometimes sweetened with the humour that has somewhat driven me throughout most of my life,” says Beccy.

“The album is not just about heartbreak and divorce though, I like to think there’s more positivity on this record than deep sadness. I’ve worked on myself more in the last four years than ever before and I’ve cracked some pretty important mysteries about who I am, I actually feel the most free and content I’ve ever felt. I discovered a level of strength and resilience I didn’t know I had and I felt it infiltrating the songwriting more than before, it actually makes tapping into past fragility quite painless!”

Recorded on the NSW Central Coast, produced by Brandon Dodd of Dingo Music Productions and The Sisters of Twang including Julz Parker, Leesa Gentz, Ali Foster (and Beccy), the album was mixed by Matt Fell and mastered by Jeff McCormack.

“The most important factor was creating the right environment to make the record and that meant surrounding myself with my favourite people, treasured musicians and friends. Everyone involved in this project from musicians to photography, artwork, even catering all have a place in my heart. There were no egos, no hidden agendas, just a group of mates making music and having the best time.. I think you can hear that on the record. The sound is raw, not overproduced, it’s just my truth, my guitar and my friends,” Beccy says.

The record opens with a track that is a new favourite for fans at live shows, ‘Shit Magnet’ and as Beccy explains, “Essentially, this song is about being able to laugh at myself. I am a shit magnet, no doubt about it!… This one is so fun to do live, and the merch is very popular. It seems like many others can relate to being a shit magnet as well!”.

Also featured is the current single ‘The Gardener & The Flower’.  The track, which likens love and partnership to tending a garden — nurturing a relationship over time, was added to Spotify’s ‘Heaps Country’ playlist upon release. Previous singles ‘More Cows Than Cowgirls’, which Beccy describes as “a tongue-in-cheek reflection on the long line of ravaged roadkill laying on the side of the highway of my life…” and the 20th anniversary version of her #1 country track and signature single ‘Poster Girl’ released for Anzac Day 2025 are also included.

Live dates have been scheduled for February 7-8th in Tasmania at the Devil Country Muster in Smithton, followed by Northern NSW at the Ballina RSL for February 15th, the Echuca Country Music Festival on March 28th and ‘Barra & Boots’ in Lake Prosperpine, Queensland on May 30th. Beccy has also been confirmed for the Adelaide Fringe Festival on March 3rd as the special guest of Brian Nankervis for Wish You Were Mine, his new live music and storytelling show from the creators of RocKwiz.

Further tour dates are to be announced.
