MidCoast to celebrate disability with art

The NSW MidCoast community is set to come together at the Manning Regional Art Gallery to celebrate International Day of People with Disability with an exhibition featuring local artists next month.

International Day of People with Disability is Friday 3 December, however the MidCoast will start celebrating early, with the exhibition continuing at the Gallery to give everyone time to visit.

The ‘We Are One’ exhibition features artworks created by MidCoast locals living with disability and they’re being displayed on the southern external wall of the Gallery.

“We’re inviting everyone to come along to the launch of ‘We Are One’ at the Gallery on Thursday 2 December from 10.30am and enjoy these vibrant expressions from our very own artists,” said Council’s Manager Libraries and Community Services, Chris Jones.

“We’re very excited to be partnering with Dundaloo Support Services and the Gallery to exhibit art from people living with disability across the MidCoast.

“Council is dedicated to supporting all members of our community. This project is our way of celebrating International Day of People with Disability this year, and to demonstrate our commitment to working with our community to make MidCoast an even better place to live.”

The project has come to life thanks to a collaboration between Dundaloo Support Services, the Manning Regional Art Gallery and MidCoast Council.
