Queensland Police have charged three teenagers following an alleged break and enter and luxury car theft in Burleigh Heads yesterday morning.
Police say that at around 9am on Monday, a Jaguar SVR SUV was stolen from an Amazon Circuit residence at Helensvale.
Officers began monitoring the vehicle until it stopped at Tawarri Crescent, Burleigh Heads.
It will be further alleged, three male juveniles armed with knives were confronted by police as they exited the vehicle, and all three fled the scene on foot.
“A short foot pursuit resulted in all three offenders being taken into custody nearby,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
A 16-year-old Coomera boy was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 15-year-old Southport boy was charged with two counts of enter dwelling and commit, and one count each of enter premises with intent, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fraud (dishonestly make off without paying), driving without a licence and obstruct police officer.
A 15-year-old Riverview boy has been charged with two counts of enter dwelling and commit, and one count each of enter premises and commit, enter premises with intent, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fraud (dishonestly make off without paying), and obstruct police officer.
All three are expected to appear in Southport Childrens Court today.
