Woman charged over Caboolture crash that killed 77-year-old

Queensland Police have charged a 42-year-old Caboolture woman following investigations into a fatal traffic crash in March which killed a 77-year-old woman.

Police will allege that at around 9.25am on March 9th, a 77-year-old Burpengary woman was walking near Market Drive when she was struck by a silver 2017 Toyota Hilux.

The woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition, where she later died as a result of her injuries.

“Following investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit, the driver of the Hilux, a 42-year-old Caboolture woman, has been charged with one count each of driving without due care and attention causing death,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

She is expected to reappear at Caboolture Magistrates Court on June 6th.
