A 79-year-old woman has died following a serious crash on Sydney’s Northern Beaches earlier this month.

Police say that at around 10am on Friday, July 16, a Mazda-6, and a Subaru Forester towing a trailer, collided while travelling in opposite directions on Barrenjoey Road at Bilgola.

“The driver of the Mazda 6 – a 79-year-old woman – was trapped in her vehicle,” NSW Police said in a statement today.

“She was eventually released and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with serious injuries and died yesterday.”

The driver of the Subaru – a 68-year-old man – was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with minor injuries.
