Volunteers sought for new Kew seniors exercise park

Adults aged 60 and over, would you like to volunteer your time to meet peers in the community and lead physical activity programs at the City of Boroondara Council’s new Seniors Exercise Park in Kew?

If you answered yes, then the Council has the perfect opportunity for you.

The Seniors Exercise Park is part of the new Victoria Park Regional Playground in Kew, expected to open later this year. You can find out more about this project on the Victoria Park Regional Playground page.

“The Seniors Exercise Park will feature a range of outdoor exercise equipment designed to help improve balance, strength, functional movement, and a range of joint motion and mobility,” Council said in a statement.

“Our Volunteer Champions will become ambassadors for the park, encouraging community members to participate, supporting everyone to use the equipment safely.”

All volunteers will receive onsite training expected to commence in mid to late October, provided by the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) at the Seniors Exercise Park.

Visit the Seniors Exercise Park Champions program page to read the position description and find out more. Applications close Sunday, September 11th.

The Seniors Exercise Park program is being delivered in partnership with NARI and State Trustees Australia Foundation.
