A 71-year-old man and his female passenger have died following a two-vehicle crash near Hay yesterday.
NSW Police say that at around 5.10pm on Monday, emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway at Hay, following reports a sedan and a truck had collided.
“The driver of the sedan, a 71-year-old man, and the female front passenger, who is yet to be identified, were treated but died at the scene,” Police said in a statement.
“A rear male passenger of the sedan was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.”
A second passenger, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to Hay Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the truck, a 27-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries before being taken to Griffith Hospital for mandatory testing.
