A 54-year-old Queensland man has been charged after police seized more than two kilograms of cocaine allegedly found concealed in the man’s truck cabin on the state’s Central Coast.
Police say that at around 9.30pm last night, officers attached to Gosford Traffic & Highway Patrol spoke with the driver of a prime mover after it stopped at a weighbridge, northbound on the Pacific Highway at Mount White.
“The man, aged 54, was subjected to a roadside drug test that allegedly returned a positive result,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“In a subsequent search of the truck, police located an amount of methamphetamine concealed under the driver’s seat, before detecting a further 2kg of cocaine concealed under a mattress.
“All items seized will undergo further forensic examination.”
The man was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug more than large commercial quantity and possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and appeared at Gosford Local Court today, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on November 19.
