Queensland Police are investigating a violent robbery at Townsville yesterday in which a woman and girl were assaulted and their car and dog stolen.
Police say their initial investigations indicate that at around 4pm, an unknown male and female attended a location along Miles Avenue and Allambie Lane at Kelso on scooters.

“They approached a woman and a girl, before assaulting them and stealing their black Ford Ranger with Queensland registration 117HT7,” Police said in a statement.
“A 43-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
Inside the ute was a merle border collie (pictured), which is still missing.
Anyone who has any information about the incident, or knows the whereabouts of the dog or the ute, is urged to contact police.
