Teens charged over servo robbery attempt

Queensland Police have arrested two teenagers over the attempted armed robbery of a service station in Molendinar yesterday.

It is alleged that in the early hours of yesterday morning, a man approached the locked entrance doors of the Ashmore Road servo wearing a hoodie and with a beanie pulled down over his face.

The console operator inside the servo requested the man remove the beanie prior to him unlocking the doors remotely for him to enter.

The man removed the beanie from his face for a moment to gain entry.

Once inside it is alleged he threatened the service station attendant with what appeared to be a long-bladed style knife in one hand and a crowbar in the other hand and demanded money.

The attendant refused to hand over any cash and the man left the scene without obtaining any money.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

An 18-year-old Maudsland man and 17-year-old girl have been charged over the attempted robbery and will face Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
