A 17-year-old Algester boy who Queensland Police allege threatened a 58-year-old man with a hammer during a robbery of a jewellery store has been arrested and charged over the incident.
Police allege that at approximately 11.30pm on May 31st, a hammer was used to break into a Calam Road business at Sunnybank Hills and a quantity of jewellery was stolen.
“A 58-year-old Marsden man, who was working nearby at the time, was allegedly threatened with a hammer during the incident,” Police said in a statement.
He was not physically injured in the alleged incident.
Detectives from Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) arrested a 17-year-old boy at an Algester property today.
The boy is due to appear at Richlands Childrens Court at a later date.
